Community Corner

After 31 years the centre, is settled in a lovely new room, and we hope to be there for many years to come.

The centre was instigated by a lovely lady who lived in the parish at the time –

Joan Purcell. Joan’s vision was to bring together people of the parish, in a caring and friendly manner. I think that has been achieved over the years. We have (what I call a wall of fame) photos in frames that now hang with pride on the walls. Sadly some of the people in the photos have passed away, there are still some of the parishioners who will remember them with fondness. You are welcome to call and see this Hall of fame

any Monday.

We still would extend that hand of friendship to anyone who would like to come. The centre opens during school terms each Monday 10.30am to 2.30pm, you don’t need to bring any thing, as we serve a cup of soup or sandwiches at lunch time, and many cups of tea or coffee during the day.

craft group

has also evolved out of the D.I.C.  This group meets Wednesday 11.30am – 3.00pm. They have organized several enjoyable bus trips over the last year or two, you have to book early for these trips as the last one had a waiting list.

Most organizations look for new members and we are no exception. So if you feel that any of these groups would suit your needs you would be made most welcome. If you require more information you can contact:

We can offer transport if it is required.
